CANDLE & INCENSE CARE
A little care goes a long way. Follow these simple tips to get the best experience from your Billie Hart candles and incense while enjoying them safely.
CANDLE CARE
The first burn matters
For your first burn, allow the candle to melt evenly across the surface before extinguishing it. This helps create an even wax pool and prevents the candle from tunnelling.
Trim the wick
Before each burn, trim the wick to approximately 5mm. A trimmed wick helps create a cleaner, more controlled flame and reduces excess soot and mushrooming.
Keep it burning safely
- Never leave a burning candle unattended.
- Keep candles away from children, pets, curtains and anything that can catch fire.
- Place your candle on a stable, heat-resistant surface.
- Keep away from drafts, fans and air conditioners.
- Do not move the candle while the wax is liquid or the vessel is hot.
- Do not burn the candle for more than 4 hours at a time.
- Stop using the candle when approximately 10mm of wax remains in the base.
After burning
Allow the candle to cool completely before handling or moving it. Keep the timber lid on when the candle isn't being used to help protect the wax and fragrance.
INCENSE CARE
Light & enjoy
Place your incense stick securely in a suitable, heat-resistant incense holder before lighting. Make sure the ash will fall onto a stable, non-flammable surface.
Light the tip of the incense and allow it to catch briefly before gently blowing out the flame. The incense should continue to glow and release fragrant smoke.
Burn safely
- Never leave burning incense unattended.
- Keep incense away from children, pets, curtains and other flammable materials.
- Always burn incense in a well-ventilated area.
- Keep away from drafts, fans and air conditioners.
- Never hold a burning incense stick in your hand.
- Ensure the incense is completely extinguished after use.
- Allow the ash and holder to cool completely before touching or cleaning.

We currently ship Australia-wide.
Standard shipping: $12 flat rate
Free shipping: Available on orders over $150
Orders are generally dispatched within 2–3 business days. Once your order has been dispatched, you’ll receive tracking information via email.
Please allow approximately 2–7 business days for delivery after dispatch, depending on your location and the delivery network.
Please note that delivery times may be longer during busy periods, sales, launches and public holidays.
Local delivery
If local delivery or collection is available, details will be provided at checkout.
International shipping
International shipping may be available for selected destinations. Shipping costs and delivery timeframes will be calculated at checkout.
Please note that international customers are responsible for any customs duties, taxes or import fees that may apply to their order.
RETURNS & EXCHANGES

Change of mind
We accept returns for change of mind where the item is:
- Unused and unopened
- In its original packaging
- In saleable condition
Please contact us within 14 days of receiving your order to request a return.
Return postage for change-of-mind returns is the responsibility of the customer. Once your return has been received and inspected, we’ll arrange your refund to the original payment method.
Original shipping costs are non-refundable for change-of-mind returns.
Damaged or faulty items
We take great care when packing your order, but if your item arrives damaged or faulty, please contact us as soon as possible.

- Your order number
- A description of the issue
- Clear photos of the damaged or faulty product and packaging
We’ll assess the issue and arrange a suitable solution, which may include a replacement, repair or refund in accordance with your Australian Consumer Law rights.
Incorrect items
If you receive the wrong product, please contact us as soon as possible with your order number and a photo of the item received. We'll organise the correct item to be sent to you.
